I have been working abroad for the last 6 years (healthcare) and I am seriously looking at the US instead of the Gulf for the next contract. From what I keep hearing, most people either go through an employer sponsor (H-1B) or an employment-based green card, and there is also the O-1 for people with strong credentials or awards. For those who actually made the move to the US – did you have to find a US employer first, or could you start the process while still overseas? Any advice on where to begin would really help.
